The transport system in Ghana is quite complicated especially to the uninitiated. The transports are owned by small scale transport owners using mini vans from one point to the other known as “tro-tro”.   They do not run on schdule time table but at irregular intervals depending on availability of passengers. Other modes include shared taxis, dropping taxis and car rental services. There are also two shipping harbors located at Tema and Takoradi. Inland lake transport is carried out using canoes and ferries. Accra is 6hours from London and Amsterdam, 7 hours from Frankfurt, 9hrs from New York.  Major airlines such as KLM, British Airways, Lufthansa, Alitalia, Delta Air lines, Emirates, among many others are available. There are also internal flights to cities such as Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi from Accra.
