These are answers to some of the frequently asked questions by participants and their families. You can contact us for further details and clarifications. Q: Who qualifies for IYEP program? A: Must be smart, friendly, and enthusiastic about learning, understanding and be able to integrate into other cultures. He / she must also have the ability to adapt to changing situations and conditions.
Q: How are the families selected? A: Families are selected based not only on their willingness to open their doors to international visitors but also having the love to share and learn from other people is paramount in our selection process. IYEP ensures that the program becomes rewarding experiences through constant interactions with both the local family and the experimenter.
Q: What happens on my arrival to host country? A: You will be welcomed by the country’s representatives at the airport, who will give orientation and then take you to your new family.
Q: How much does the program cost? A: This depends on the type of program, length of stay, location of project or Institution.
Q: Do I have the option to stay alone? Or have the freedom to move about without interruptions? A: IYEP policy ensures the total safety of all participants, when there is a need for a participant to travel around the country IYEP will assist with suggestions and provide safety guidelines.
Q: Where are the projects located in Ghana? A: We have projects in cities such as Accra, the capital, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast and Koforidua and in rural communities, in the Central, Eastern, Ashanti, and Western regions of Ghana.
Q: How long does the process of placements take? A: It usually takes 8 weeks for placement depending on the country of origin of the participant; the IYEP partner organization in your country would facilitate the process. Please inquire for the address of partner of organization in your country. |
